Announcement of AGM; call for Officer and Committee nominations
As Secretary of the Burleigh Bombers AFC I hereby give notice that:

1. The Annual General Meeting of the Burleigh Bombers AFC will
take place on 27th November, 2011 at the Burleigh Sports Club at 09:00 am
local time. All members are entitled to attend and vote at this meeting.

2. The agenda will comprise:

1) Minutes of 2010 AGM
2) Matters Arising
3) Presidents Report
4) Treasures Report
5) Election of Offices for the year beginning 27th November 2011

Any additional items for the agenda should be sent to reach the President (burleighbombers@live.com.au by 14th November 2011)

3. The membership of the Executive Committee for the year following the 27th November 2011 will be chosen at this meeting.

Nominations for election to the Offices (President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary) and the Executive Committee should be sent to reach the President by the 14th November 2010.

There are up to 11 Places on the Committee (including the named Offices) and should nominations exceed vacancies, election will be by ballot.

Congratulations to Burleigh Bombers Captain Marcus Powell in taking out the double with the Senior Best and Fairest along with the highly regarded Players Player award for 2011. Marcus had a late surge in both awards overtaking Mick Van Rossum in the final rounds of the season. Sam Brown was named as best First Year Player awarded to the best performing Burleigh Junior to step into Senior ranks. A special mention must go to Rob Borlase and Craig Fleming for being awarded Life Membership for their continued service to the club for many years. Marcus is congratulated by assistant coach Brad Kahyl

Senior Captain Marcus Powell clocked his 100th Game for the Bombers vs Grange last weekend. Marcus has stepped up as a leader this year in what has been a hard season for the first time Captain. Marcus started with the Bombers in 2005 playing in the Premiership that year.

Pete Laenger played his last game for the Bombers against Grange at home last weekend. Alf has been a great servant of the football club always dedicated to his training, preperation and his team mates. He will be sadly missed playing over 100 Senior Games for the Club and being a valued member of the Bombers 2004 and 2005 Premiership Teams. Peter was also acknowledged in 2007 being named in Burleigh's 30 year team.
