about us

history

Burleigh Bombers Australian Rules Football Club has its home ground based at 111 Christine Avenue Burleigh Waters. The Bombers are both a Senior and Junior Club and offer a true path way for all participants to whatever level and ability they desire to achieve.

The Men field Senior and Reserves Teams in the QFA Div 2 South competition, a high quality competition with great rivalry between the 9 clubs, all based on the Gold Coast and Northern NSW. We had a very successful year in 2021 winning premierships in both Seniors and Reserves, and we look to continue that success in 2022 under new Senior Player / Coach John Boxer, and returning 2021 undefeated Reserves Coach Tex Ryan

The Women field  Senior and Reserves Teams in the QFAW Division 1 competition. Known as the Bombettes our Division 1 team was narrowly beaten in their Grand Final in 2019 and missed the Grand Final by 1 game in 2021.

Masters – After winning 5 Over 35’s premierships in 6 years the last 3 years have been rebuilding. Our Over 45’s have been very strong for the past few years losing only 1 game in 2021, and going thru undefeated in 2020. A social competition that really encourages family followings and a great way to meet new people on the social side, but still love to win.

Junior Club have teams from the super 6’s right through to the under 17’s, in 2021 we had 32 teams covering all ages with several divisions in most ages for both boys and girls.

Burleigh Bombers are a proud club with a long history of success at all levels, they are proud to be associated with the Burleigh Sports Club which is one of the most outstanding sports clubs on the coast. They are open 7 days for meals, social gatherings, TAB, pokies and a fantastic place just to enjoy a cold drink and relax.
